Transportation in Agra, India

Agra's system of transport includes buses, trains, taxis, rickshaws, and even tongas.

Buses

The UPSRTC (Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation) is the main public bus operator. Many bus routes go through city's main attractions. Buses go much more frequently in the morning and in the evening.

Taxis

One can find a lot of taxis in Agra. Especially in public places. Sometimes drivers don't speak English, so caring a map is a good idea. They seldom use meters. Negotiating the fare before the ride is a reliable option. Prepaid taxis can be hired for half-day or a full-day sightseeing.

Rickshaws

Auto-rickshaws and cycle-rickshaws are readily available throughout the city. The fare has to be negotiated before the journey. This will help you avoid problems. Rickshaws can be cheaper than taxis, if you bargain well enough. Most of the time the rickshaws try to overcharge tourists. 

Electric Tempos

Tempos are the electric vehicles with already specified roads. They can be hired and used in most areas of the city.

Tongas

Tongas are permitted around the territory of Taj Majal. (other vehicles, but electric are prohibited) also tourists can take a tonga tour of Agra. They can take you to the most tourist attractions in Agra with a lof of drive and fun. It si a fun and interesting thing to do. A lat of toga wallahs are willing to help. The price, again, has to be negociated before the ride. Tongas (with cycle-rickshaws) are the most environmentally-friendly way to go sightseeing in Agra.
