There are plenty of attractions in a small town like Cox’s Bazar such as sandy beach, old wooden Buddhist temples and many more.
It is located 32 km south of Cox’s Bazar along the beach. It is also located 12 km south of Bazar Town and 6 km from the Kalatali beach by the hill. It is a nice spot for picnic and photo shooting. The main sights of Himchari are the famous “Broken Hills”, Himchari National Park, Christmas tree and waterfalls. The waterfall has a rare scene to enjoy. It can be enjoyed the most especially in the rainy season. Himchari National Park is a tropical rail forest that was established in 1980. The park is maintained and protected by the government. There are different species of plants and birds. A lot of birdwatchers gather here to see different kinds of birds which can be found in 286 species. The entrance fee is Tk 5 per person.
It is located 32 km south of Cox Bazar and it is only a half hour drive from Cox’s Bazar. It is an ideal place for swimming and for a picnic. It is considered the world’s longest and broadest beach which is 180 m at high tide and 300 m at low tide. It can be reached by a rickshaw or tempo. The attactions of this beach are the green hills, the sea, unusual shaped rock and coral boulders, tall palm trees, seashells with different colors, shapes and sizes, calm lagoon, beach, and shark free water. For the visitors who are going to visit Inani Beach, it is wise to take a packed lunch and water when visiting the beach.
It is a typical Buddhist Beach that is located about 16 km from Cox’s Bazar and the village hosts monasteries, khyangs and pagodas containing images of Buddha in gold, bronze or other materials.
It is located seven kilometers from Cox’s Bazar. The island is rich for different kinds of shells. The western side of the island is sandy and the fishermen camp here in every winter. The main attractions of this island are the sights of birds migrating, turtle nests, different bird species, qildlife, live fishing and fishermen lifestyle and shrimp farm.
It is located on the Naaf river and it is just at the end of the hilly regions of the district. Myanmar is on the opposite bank of Naaf river. It is located 85 km from Cox Bazar by road and 120 km by the beach along the sea. There is public transport from Cox Bazar to each Teknaf every hour. The journey takes around 2 hours. Most of the tourists visit the place usually in winter or between in winter and autumn. There are wild animals and birds available here but the most interesting thing is a journey on the river.
