Uzbekistan: Travel/Tourist Information Guide
Uzbekistan is a country in Central Asia which borders with Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan. It is mostly landlocked, except for a short shoreline of the Aral Sea. The capital of Uzbekistan is Tashkent.
Uzbekistan is a great visiting place for the traveler that wants to see architectural buildings. It has a preserved rich architectural heritage. Monumental buildings' construction was seen as a matter of prestige, and they tried to emphasize the power of the ruling dynasty. Most of the towns had fortifications and they were surrounded by walls which have specific designs, with semicircular towers and darwazas (gates). There were big markets called bazaars. There were also large public centres called maydan (open square).
There are also a great number of religious buildings, especially mosques and a lot of natural reserves as well.
Uzbekistan has a lot of places that are worth visiting and it is a great tourist place for the traveler that wants to explore and see different buildings and landscapes.
