Puebla, Mexico: Accommodation

Puebla has a very competitive hotel scene, with an already large variety of options to choose from and new arrivals popping up frequently. Standards are kept high and the prices mostly fluctuate in the mid-range spectrum.

NH Puebla is modern 4-star hotel, offering large contemporary rooms with very comfortable beds, a rooftop bar with a great view, a pool and a gym. The hotel is located very close to Puebla’s Historical Center. Rooms have access to free Wi-Fi and are decorated in a vanguard style. Prices are mid-ranged.

Hotel Casa de la Palma Travel is another mid-ranged option located in the city center. The Casa’s facilities include a spa, a business center and free Wi-Fi. Rooms are very spacious and have minimal colonial decorations and modern private bathrooms. There is a local restaurant serving local cuisine and within walking distance are several other good choices.


La Purificadora is a sister hotel to the stylish Condesa df in Mexico City. Located near the Puebla Cathedral, this dramatically styled hotel features free Wi-Fi, an outdoor swimming pool and an on-site restaurant. Some rooms have private balconies, but all of them include flat-screen TV’s and iPod docking stations. The area around the hotel offers walking tours and a number of good bakeries and candy shops. Prices at La Purificadora can vary wildly and are usually on the more expensive end, but there’s also a lot of last minute specials.

Meson de San Sebastian is an elegant, family-friendly, boutique hotel with a colorful courtyard and an English-speaking, accommodating staff. Rooms are well decorated and include a flat-screen TV, a safety-deposit box, a working desk, and a private bathroom with toiletries. The room-rent includes a complimentary American breakfast in the on-site restaurant. Meson de San Sebastian is situated in Puebla’s Historic Center.

On the cheaper end of the mid-ranged scale is Hotel Casa Abolengo, also located in the city center. Features include free Wi-Fi and an on-site restaurant. Rooms are individually decorated in a Mexican style each, and offer a wardrobe and private bathroom with toiletries.
