Bhopal is located at the heart of India which is Madhya Pradesh. Therefore, it is easily accessible from most parts of India by air, road and rail. Metro trains which are going from Mumbai to Delhi via Itarsi and Jhansi also go through Bhopal. Local buses and auto-rickshaws are available to reach the city center. Lastly, by road, major cities like Indore, Ujjain, Nagpur and Ratlam are well connected to Bhopal. There are also regular state run and private bus services connect Bhopal with other major cities. The Bus Station is a 5 minute walk from Habibganj Railway Station.

For getting around, Bhopal has a decent transportation system. Travellers can use buses, mini-buses, three wheeled autos and tempos. It is also easy to book a taxi to get a full day ride in and around the city for reasonable rates. Hotels usually help guests with transportation. For the ones who are visiting Bhopal for the first time, the safest thing to do is booking a taxi rather than taking the public transportation system.
