Paro, Bhutan: Travel/Tourist Information Guide
Paro is a town and the heart of Paro districts in the Paro Valley of Bhutan. It is located in the south west of Bhutan. It is home to Paro Airport which is Bhutan’s only international airport. Paro has a population around 4,500 people. The town is rapidly developing and there are plenty of restaurants, bakeries and cafes to choose from. Paro is a historic town and travellers usually spend several days in Paro because there are so many attractions such as 155 temples and monasteries. The Valley is also wide and it is recognized as one of the most beautiful in Bhutan. Paro might be a perfect spot for the ones who like nature and who would like to spend quiet and peaceful time. Paro has a main street which was built in 1985 and at the main street, there is a complex of traditional architecture with richly decorated buildings that house small shops, institutions and restaurants. It is one of the three must see places in Bhutan along with Thimphu and Jakar.
