Ura is a picturesque village located in Bumthang. The journey takes two hours from Jakar to Ura. The most famous attraction of Ura is Sumthrang Lhakhang which is a several hundred year old monastery with a lot of simple but beautiful artwork. The town is famous for the Matsutake Festival that is organized every August. The festival celebrates mushroom season. The people of this region are primarily sheep and yak herders. Women here traditionally cover their head with white scarf against cold wind and wear sheepskin behind their back, which is used as cushion and as well as to protect their cloth from the load they carry.
