The area is located 150 km south of Chittagong Metropolitan city. It is connected both by air and road with the capital of Bangladesh and port city Chittagong. To start with, there are daily flights available from Dhaka and Chittagong to Cox Bazar. The main airlines are United Airways and Regent. The journey usually takes sixty minutes to Cox Bazar. Next, for bus transportation, a bus journey will take about 10-12 hours from Dhaka and around 4-5 hours from Chittagong. The notable bus companies are Greenline, Soudia, Hanif, TR Travels, Shamoli and Amader Baghdad. There are also non air conditioned buses takes goes to Cox’s Bazar with a cheaper price. The main bus terminal of Cox’s Bazar is located a few kilometers east of the central town area which takes around 15-20 minutes to the center with a CNG rickshaw. There are also some local buses that head to Chittagong and Teknaf. The offices of the private bus companies can be found near Hotel Sea Queen which is located on the main road. During the tourist season, booking in advance is recommended. Lastly, railway service is also available from Dhaka to Chittagong and by taking a car or a bus, it can be reached to Cox Bazar. There is no rail connection up to Cox Bazar but is it still an option for the ones who want to travel from Dhaka.

The area is full for cycle rickshaws so that transportation won’t be any problem for visitors. It is the most convenient option and it is also cheap. For example, a ride between Hotel Motel Zone to the Laboni point area should cost around Tk 12. For foreigners, negotiating the price beforehand is highly recommended.
